Alternative to the acceptance giro
The disappearance of the acceptance giro in June 2023 presented a challenge for Doctors Without Borders. This traditional payment method had long been a trusted means for (one-time) donations. Finding an effective alternative was essential to make fundraising seamless.
Smart payment alternatives introduced
Cooperating with Ternair and other charities, Doctors Without Borders developed an innovative approach to make up for the loss of the acceptance giro. An advanced acceptance giro card was introduced, offering donors three flexible payment options: via online banking, mobile donation or SEPA authorization. This card provides donors with clear instructions on how to make a donation, while the payment reference in Internet banking ensures easy identification of the donation.
Optimized fundraising through digitization
Thanks to this new approach, Médecins Sans Frontières has not only streamlined the transition from offline to online donations, but also optimized fundraising. Using Buckaroo as a payment partner and a smart segmentation of QR codes based on previous donations, the donation process is personalized and simplified for each donor.
